Today

“Today, I’m with my son, just the two of us like no one else exists

.

And honestly, it’s not easy, and it’s not even funny. I gave my heart to a man I loved deeply, older than me by eight years. When we were dating, we would laugh, joke, and play like best friends, but the moment we got married, everything changed. If I joked, he said I was being disrespectful.

Even when I was pregnant, we would argue, and he would shut me out. I’d step out to cool off because I don’t like keeping malice, but he wouldn’t call or text for days, sometimes a whole week. Then I found out he was seeing someone else. I didn’t say a word.

What hurt me the most was I married for love, not money. If it was for money, I would have taken my share before leaving. Starting over was hard, but I survived”.
